Maryland-based artist Mannywellz combines melody, raps, syncopation, structured chord progressions, and hip-hop beats to create songs that are influenced by rap, pop, and his native West Africa. Born and raised in Nigeria before immigrating to Bowie, Maryland, at the age of nine, Emmanuel Ajomale, is the son of Nigerian gospel singer Kunle Ajomale. In 2017, he toured his debut album, SoulFro, opening for U.S. with Nigerian-American rapper-singer Jidenna. Mannywellz’ latest EP, Mirage, includes the sweet and soulful single “Peace” featuring breakout Nigerian artist and hitmaker Tems (“Essence”) which has received praise from The FADER, The Washington Post and more. Mannywellz is also on other artists’ projects including the recent feature alongside Queens rapper Bas on producer, Juls’ single “Wish You” off his new album Sounds Of My World.
